I always say watch these videos in the winter (for obvious reasons) but here's Henry's video today. Maybe you guys prefer summer stuff. He talks about the Thunderstorms, high dewpoints, Tropics, ect.
I had some brief heavy rain a little while ago. Heard one loud rumble of thunder before it came, but nothing while it was raining. After it finished raining it started thundering again.
Don't really know what's going on, but we've been gettin t-storms every other day lately.
Hasn't even been particularly warm or humid, highs around 20C and dew points around 10C.
The other day I got stuck at the bus stop in Annemasse for almost an hour, it was raining hard and the bolts were coming down onto the mountainside at a rate of about one a minute for a half hour! Temp was only like 15C.
Almost impressive for a largely oceanic climate: cool temps with tstorms, I'll take it!
Not too unusual I'd say. Many of the best storms I remember here occurred on days that weren't hot or even very warm. The supercell storms that we got in June 2012 for example occurred when max temps were only 24C.
I saw a phenomenal thunderstorm this afternoon here in central Florida.
