Defence is probably the wrong word - basically NI receives a lot of money for things like policing because the risk of terrorism is still very high. They have a lot of armoured vehicles etc.
Tory-DUP deal signed, NI gets an additional £1.5b worth of funding (bearing in mind it is already the biggest recipient of public money per person in the UK).
I remember Leeds trying to get a metro system in place for less but the government rejected it because it was deemed too expensive. What a farce. Scotland and Wales should be very angry as well. Seems the only way you can get any extra funding in this country is by blackmailing the government.
Its crazy how a relatively large city doesn't even have a rapid transit system. It really boggles my mind and NI doesn't seem to be reaping the benefits of getting more funding. What are they doing with the extra money?
Many major cities in the US don't have rapid transit systems, or have only installed them very recently. Quite shocking how backwards the US is outside the Northeast
From the sounds of it, Ireland is going to be the one building the wall to protect itself from all the people fleeing the May disaster
Lol, true.

Well thats just the USA and it has a very car orientated urban development over there. Most cities in mainland Europe have good transportation in their cities. UK should be the same
