'Keisari' and 'Kukko' brands are IMO good bang for buck in the bulk department. Also 'Sandels'. Stallhagen, Prykmestar and Stadin panimo are good artisan breweries.

When you're younger, you're also more susceptible to the "I don't want to be lonely" mentality so you don't break off relationships because of that. When you get a bit older, you realize it's better to be alone than to have bad company.

There's a block of similarly skinny houses in Jamaica, Queens, not too far away from where I used to live. However, they don't look nearly as nice (or historic) as the one in the article you posted. I'd post a street view link, but I don't think you're able to copy the link on a phone.
