Looks like Macron has been elected for the new president. Glad no more nightmares made tonight, what a relief.

Neither candidate inspired me. Macron offers more of the same failed liberalism, alongside workers strikes across the country. The guy takes the worst ideas from the left and right, and combines them into a turd.

I'm just happy that the UK remains Europe's village idiot for the time being. Thank you France.

I will eat a croissant to celebrate! Shame I don't live in France as it's been a while since I've been on the winning side of anything over here.

Great, a candidate won who is more likely to advocate giving your country a poor deal in the upcoming negotiations.

As for "village idiot". There's EU members in eastern Europe with far-right governments who only support membership because they receive significant EU funding, and only limited levels of immigration.
