Grade JULY only.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_Simpson#Climate
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halifa...Scotia#Climate
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_...fornia#Climate

Not a climate battle per se: but rather an intriguing comparison between three very distinct climates with very different annual climates but somehow all come together to have an average high in the 23C (mid 73 to low 75)-bracket The reason I've chosen these three is that while exhibiting similar highs, everything else is different: daylight, sun angles, the degree of maritime influence, rainfall and even overnight lows where Halifax is clearly the warmest, while being the wettest!

(yes there are other places with 23C but I've decided to nominate three that stood out for me and not had overly fluctuating lows and too similar daylight to others).

Fort Simpson (61.51N):
Temp: 23.7/11.2 (74.7/52.2)
Rain: 61.1 mm (2.4 inch)
Sun: 307 hours
15 July sun angle: 49.5 degrees
1 July daylight: Perpetual
31 July daylight: 19 hours 39 minutes

Halifax (44.38N):
Temp: 23.1/14.4 (73.6/57.9)
Rain: 110.3 mm (4.3 inch)
Sun: 235 hours
15 July sun angle: 66.8 degrees
1 July daylight: 16 hours 43 minutes
31 July daylight: 15 hours 48 minutes

Santa Cruz (36.58N):
Temp: 23.0/12.2 (73.4/53.7)
Rain: 0.3 mm (0.01 inch)
Sun: Unknown but above 300 hours for certain (313 in San Francisco)
15 July sun angle: 74.4 degrees
1 July daylight: 15 hours 41 minutes
31 July daylight: 15 hours

My winner is Fort Simpson... given I can leave at 1 August and just spend a glorious perpetually bright month with wonderful temps for all that light there I'd be more than happy to! The others have their peak summers afterwards but all three of them would be quite comparable to the summers where I live so it's very tight for me between these three

I'm hoping for high "electoral participation" since I think this is an exciting comparison

Halifax. Fort Simpson is unlivable in the winter and Santa Cruz is too dry in the summer. Halifax winters are a bit cold but not over the top like Fort Simpson and perfectly livable, so I choose Halifax

Fort Simpson

My uncle used to live up there and the summers are glorious.

I visited him when he lived in Fort Smith, NWT, which has a very similar climate.

Loved the almost 24 hour a day sunshine, low humidity,
very clean fresh air, I mean really clean.
Everyone seems to have a vegetable garden and the grow huge...giant mutant carrots!

Also the local rivers and lakes are not polluted like down south,
thirsty...just scoop some water from the lake and drink.

That sounds just amazing! It makes me want to go there in summer I wouldn't want to travel to any place with less daylight to where I live in July, but if it's warmer during the day and brighter then why not

I have to go with Halifax. It's similar to Moncton and I'm cool with Moncton in the summer. It's the winter's in both places that I have huge problems with.

Moncton is quite a bit warmer in summer though?

At least Halifax rains a lot in summer so not surprised either way

True. Moncton is nicer than Halifax in the summer but Halifax is nice than Moncton in the winter. Less snow in Halifax.

As for the other two places, neither are appealing. Santa Cruz is too dry in the summer and Fort Simpson too continental. I'm a fan of low daily diurnal ranges.
