I see a small pocket of upper 30’s this morning in central Long Island, low 60’s along the Atlantic coast. Might be one of the largest temperature spreads I’ve seen here.
Come here during the spring when the lake is still ice cold and you can see 40+F difference in temps in just a few miles..... Itasca to Wilmette is about 15 miles
Low of 45° last night, and currently up to 51° before the front. It's already raining . Going to Pitt college football game today is gonna be rough, hopefully we don't get as much as predicted. Radar is showing a dry pocket forming so hopefully that evolves and is over us
Wow it hasn't hit 50 here since midnight on the 26/7th. When I went to class this morning it was in the 30s with wind chills in the 20s. Today's high of 50F is the coldest October high I've experienced since 2002 (when I was four years old).
On Halloween of 1993, Alexandria, LA had a high of just 42F .
That was easily the record low max for October here.
November looks like a garbage pattern as well for most of the East, PNA trending negative again with no signs of high latitude blocking. November is already my least favorite weather month for most of the US. I would prefer to live further north where November snows are common.
