High topped out at 86 today. 2.3 inches of rain so far this month with almost an inch of it falling yesterday which was a complete washout.
Currently 74 with a dew point of 72. Great May which is helping aid plant recovery from winter ( damage on an extreme level), and speed up my garden plus neighboring farms which all planted much later than nomal thanks to a late last freeze ( been the normal every year this decade almost) and very cold spring. Wheat harvests began last couple of weeks as combines ran over the fields that were planted late november 2017.
Last time we were below 66 degrees was the 11th which had a low of 59. Since then all nights have been mostly 68- 69. Highs have been more in the mid 80s. Average high for this date is about 81. We have also recorded 3 90 degree days this month.
Heavy rain to my north east at this time. Who knows who will get what today. Clear on the whole west coast of FL at this time and another area of rain around Palm beach to the big lake. Just need some sun to make for some stronger build ups for later today.
I live in SW Florida and this is normally our dry season. Rainy season starts June 1st, usually exactly that date. However the last few days have been rainy all day; heavy rain at times. I'm not complaining because we were very dry with high fire danger just about everywhere in my county and the county south of us. However it concerns me as I hope it doesn't indicate a bad hurricane season, especially after Irma hit us last year.
May in Indianapolis will be flirting with the record for the most days above 80F ever. Yesterday was our 14th 80 degree day this month. The record for the month of May is 21. We just need 8 more days out of the next 11 and the forecast is looking promising to break that record.
