We go almost 5 years without getting 3" of snow in a single event...now people are shrugging off forecasts of 5" or more. Things change fast here!

NWS Buffalo issued a watch. Doing it 3-4 days before is not
too common but I agree. Good call. There will be Warnings going up Friday

A front and a storm. Someone is gonna get over 20 inches.

It is extremely rare that a watch goes up this early. My guess is NWS Buffalo wants to increase awareness as soon as possible given the widespread nature of the storm. Hopefully the track does not shift significantly south...it would be a cry wolf situation for sure.

Northeast weather sucks. Can't go through just one winter without some lousy snowstorm.

The snow and ice wont be melting fast either. Salt might not even be that effective. Here's a look at the Wind Chill Values & Temps Monday afternoon per GFS.

Mid week NYC will go above freezing but cold comes in right after that so there might be snow/ice on ground for a while.

After looking at the latest euro and NAM, the entire state outside of a sliver of extreme southwest PA and most of southeast PA are getting a foot. You heard it here first
