we had a very long and cool winter this year here in the us vi... but this summer is turning out to be hot and humid!!! strange weather i thought it would be cooler this summer here... guess not!!!
The warmest day we have experienced here in San Francisco so far during the summer has only been 86F. So by summer standards we have been relatively mild because we have not yet seen any daytime highs reach the 90's F.
What I heard is that there's no "Bermuda High" set up this year.
Usually it's just east of NC, and is often resposible for giving Ontario a strong southerly flow.
Ontario also has a low pressure over Hudson Bay
which is pushing cold air southwards.
Believe it or not, there's still "significant ice cover" over Hudson Bay.
So far, our July has felt like June, with highs about 5-10 F below average.
It's been below average in Pa. We joke that July called in sick and September's filling in for him. June felt like May. It's going to finally get up to some pretty warm temps for a day or two and then back down to about 80. I like the cooler weather but I think the garden needs some good hot temperatures to get things to ripen.
