Mostly asking people that know about Canadian weather data, but I was trying to make a sort of chart comparing cities coldest temperatures during a period of time (1981 to 2010) and well most Canadian cities I've added so far have either some or a lot of missing data during that month. Regina, Calgary, Saskatoon, and Kenora are all missing over 10 days. Toronto and Montreal are at 5 days missing. Even Vancouver is missing 4 days. Now for some reason Winnipeg is just missing over 10 days in most months that I've seen for some reason. Was there something that happened during that time that could explain the amount of missing data during that month?

A lot of the missing data is actually there under hourly data instead of daily data.

For example, here's part of Calgary for December 1992:

If you click on December 25, for example, you see the hourly data is actually there:

So it would probably be possible (although tedious) to reconstruct the daily data at least to a first approximation.

Why is it like this? Who knows. Probably a software glitch and as usual ECCC is demonstrating no initiative in fixing their website or data access. Blame the climate emergency.

BTW, I forgot what an epic cold snap that was for the prairies in December 1992.
