I thought the biggest concern with Chicago area weather changes was the increase in precipitation, notably getting wetter.

Yes. That too, but many areas south and southwest tend to get a bit more annual precipitation than Chicago currently averages I think with the current climate normals of 1991-2020 Chicago Ohare airports averages about just shy of 37 inches of rain and snow combined whereas Springfield and Kansas City Missouri average closer to 38 to 40 inches of average annual precipitation.

I voted other. This site suggests that Chicago will end up like Lansing, KS, a suburb of Kansas City. I don't know how much warming their model predicts but it says that it simulates the climate of 2080. Personally, I would guess Chicago would become more like Springfield, Missouri. Kansas City seems too dry and too cold in the winter to be a good analogue. Springfield has warmer, wetter winters that I think would be more typical of future-Chicago.

^^^^^^^^^^^^Ozarks of Missouri may also potentially be an analogue for Chitown if Chicago warms up by 5 F or so I’d venture to guess it is possible Chicago area could potentially feel like the highlands of southern Missouri, or possibly something resembling a cross between KC and Southern Missouri(Springfield area). Never thought of that but I heard of the article years back when it was published just skimmed through it and moved on at the time. Thanks for your input
