This desert climate is located in the Coachella Valley of California. Very hot summers with little relief at night. Winter days are also quite warm but the nights can get a lot colder than at the coast.
It is too hot in summer and has a bad combo of night/day temperatures. Day temperatures are nice from mid October to April, but during that time nights are too cool, and they are also too hot in summer.
F+. Though winter looks nice, the summer is basically hell! It's to to dry as well. This climate will kill you! You know, most cities have 38C-42C as the record high, not as the average high during the summer/September months! LOL
Even for me... Summers to hot, bring that down to 32 or 33 and I'd love the climate!
D for me. Way too hot in summer. My skin would basically dry up and flake off lol. ugh. Winter however looks nice for a getaway. I know quite a few people that head off to similar climates like Palm Springs in winter. They love it. But none of them venture near there in summer. I spent a week in Las Vegas in January of 2010. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the climate was in winter in Vegas.
I give it a D+. 100+ is fine for a day or two heat wave but every day in summer is revolting. The "plus" is for the high sunshine hours and nice winter temperatures. It also needs way more rain.
I think even most heat lovers would prefer a coastal (or a few miles inland) Southern California climate to this furnace. Upper 70s and low 80s in summer and mid to upper 60s in winter is plenty warm enough. Those record highs of 120+ are just plan dangerous and who wants to pay a fortune for AC when you can just open the window at night when you live close to the coast?
