A wintry blast of punishing wind and close to 4 feet of snow in places pummeled the Northern Plains on Thursday, stranding unknown numbers of motorists for a day or more and knocking out power to thousands.
Yesterday on Fox News they spent a fair amount of time on this storm, especially Interstate 90. Today it is other networks (NBC, CNN) with a reporter in downtown Bismarck. Showing four and five foot drifts in the downtown area. This is one heck of a storm blowing through there!
I'd LOVE it. I'd be absolutely ecstatic! I wish we'd get walloped with a blizzard some day. Winter weather around SW Ohio is so borrrrrriiiiinnnnnggggg. A little rain here, a few clouds there, temps in the 50s and 60s most of the time, an occasional snow shower.....*YAWN*. It's amazing when we actually DO get some big snows in the Winter.
Well, either NWS is wrong or TWC is wrong cause they said either 44.7 or 45.7 inches of snow. That's also what our local channel said. Anyway, guess it doesn't matter cause they had a LOT of it.
I had posted a link to a So. Dak. state thread and there are a few pics on there, too if anyone is interested.
