Suppose you're right. Kabul (1800m asl) has an average January high of 5C and low of -7C, and presumably a fair bit of snow.

I thought I'd bring back this long-neglected thread. Seeming as we've spent the last few weeks rating other climates maybe guessing this one will be easier.
(all in metric, sorry!)
January: 1.3/-3.8C, 57mm
February: 2.3/-3.2C, 40mm
March: 6.1/-0.8C, 43mm
April: 11.6/2.7C, 37mm
May: 17.7/7.4C, 53mm
June: 20.4/10.6C, 71mm
July: 22/12.9C, 80mm
August: 22.1/12.8C, 90mm
September: 17.2/8.8C, 89mm
October: 11.9/5.1C, 79mm
November: 5.3/0.3C, 91mm
December: 2.4/-1.9C, 73mm

I was surprised to see that this place has a record low as cold as -33.3C considering its averages. The record high is 36.5C.

I first thought it would be in the French-German border area where the boundary has moved and a town or two have "changed hands". But Aachen (Aix-la-Chapelle) is now German... maybe it's in the German-Polish boundary zone?

Imagine what Boston was like 300 years ago. I was in a New England farmhouse from around 1750 last October. No central heat. Brr.

I've never heard of Sodot - do you mean Sopot? Either way, it's neither of those places, and it's not in Poland. You're getting close though...

Kalingrad. Only area east of Germany that didn't go to Poland.

Impressed how warm it is for being in eastern Europe. And at 54°N.
