On slow speed routes at least, like commuter trains. I would do that if I dared as well. Nicer to sit up there in the breeze than in a full packed coach without AC.

Not in recent times, because many lines are electrified and trains have more cars.

People standing on the tracks is typical all across India, and it will sadly never change .

Because using underground passages to cross tracks the right way usually means walking on sewage and raw s*it .

I couldn't live in a country like that.

My mum would be walking around with dettol cleaning everythimg.
