Ours will be small. It's this coming weekend actually. 18 guests total, at an old antique mansion on Gloucester, MA. The brunt of the cost will be dinner for the family, with open bar. Even with that, the estimated total cost will be about $3500.


Really, the main reason for the small wedding is this. We already own a home together, and each have a child. While the day is about us, we don't need a $40K wedding as that would go to much better use towards the kids, or making our new house a home. Plus with toddlers running around, we don't have the time to detail out everything and chase down and meet with vendors to pick out every detail.


Small ceremony with a JP, a couple small traditional dishes, and then a nice dinner with the family. All we need.
