Alright CD members, last week one of my lifelong friends ask me to be a best man in his wedding. I was wondering why I hadn't heard from him in awhile?LOL...... He caught me off guard and I was shocked to hear the news. The woman he is marrying, he has known her his whole life and he has himself a keeper! She is the outdoor type as well and is cool with everything! Told ya they existed! Anyway, I'm not exactly sure what things I should be doing because I don't have any personal experience in the marriage department? All I know, I think I'm going to give them $250.00- $500.00 in cash for a wedding present. Would this be too much? What else am I supposed to do except give the bachelor party and stand up with him and give a speech? Any help would be appreciated? Rugged

You're in charge of throwing the Bachelor Party.

ETA: Oops, I see you already knew that

Aha, this will make for a juicy thread some day! Unless he gets too busy with some bridesmaid.

Come to think of it, I don't remember ever seeing a thread describing a Bachelor party...

Just be there also for moral support. He may get nervous. Tell him you'll support him either way.

That sounds like a great wedding present to one of your best buds!

Which version of the Rules Of Best Man Etiquette are you looking for?

The Bride/Bride's Family/Groom's Family version OR the Blokes Version?

Thread has to stay PG13

OP, I know for many of my buddies, the best man is also in charge of making sure the bachelor doesn't do anything too stupid during his party.

Yeah. Don't hire any strippers to come to the house...I've heard some *stories* about that. Just go the strip club if you must. I'll leave it at that.

Did these stories lead to called-off weddings?
