Hello. Trying to narrow down search. Relocating from Maine and husbands office is in Palm Beach Gardens. WE have 3 children so school systems are a huge factor...especially high schools. Also, looking for neighborhoods will families, w/in 20min of beaches, and shopping/ restaurants. Which community would you recommend we look at. House budget is $350-$450K.

Wellington hands down if you are looking for a family orientated community with good schools. Stuart and Hobe Sound you will find it much less family orientated and pretty far north. For $350 to $450 in Wellington you can find a really nice 4 to 5 bedroom 3 bath pool home in a great community , so you will have no problem with your budget

Don't count out Jupiter and Palm Beach Gardens themselves. I work in Jupiter, and I love both places. Jupiter has a few good tiki bars called u-Tiki and the Square Grouper (down Love Street), and Palm Beach Gardens has the PBG Mall, in addition to nightlife and a Cheesecake Factory.

I'll save you some time: Don't even consider living anywhere north of Jupiter/Palm Beach County; you will be very bored as there is very, very minimal nightlife and things to do (this will include both Hobe Sound and Stuart). I am temporarily staying in Port St. Lucie (Port St. Lousy, as there is absolutely nothing to do here for someone my age) at the moment, and I am looking for places to live near West Palm closer to work (I can't stand the 40 mile commute each way, either).

Hope this helps.

Jupiter and Palm Beach Gardens would be better choices and maybe Juno beach but not many homes available for large families in JB. Wellington is nice but it is very, VERY busy and lots of traffic. Not that Jupiter and PBG lack the traffic but a bit easier. The more south you go the busier it gets. If you are looking for a large backyard - Jupiter Farms is a nice community too and your budget is sufficient in any of these places.

Wellington is the best choice in my opinion

I have to agree with LordyLordy. See my review of Jupiter in your other post.

hmm, strange I live in Wellington and not aware of all this traffic and it being very very busy , maybe it is late at night or the wee morning hours when I am sleeping. The traffic is definitely not excessive and I would hardly call it traffic. even rush hours is quite calm, of course busier than any other time of day but nothing to stress out about

I guess once you get out to Wellington there is not so much traffic. But the commute to and from Palm Beach Gardens can be pretty stressful.

yes that may be true but you can say the same thing for anywhere you are traveling to. If you live in PBG or Jupiter and have to go to Lake Worth or anywhere else you will hit traffic during rush hour. The entire USA is like that unless you are in a rural area.

However going to PBG from Wellington is rather simple and easy if you take the turnpike. Of course there is a small toll but a very easy commute, especially if you live in east Wellington
