We have been looking for a home or condo to buy down in Florida.
We've been going thru the realtor websites, but can't seem to weed out
the 55+ communities.
Is there a better way of doing it??

I know people who have sent letters and emails to Realtor.com telling them to separate the 55+ properties.

Such a waste of time to weed through.

Check out tranquility in Hobe Sound. Gated community and amazing deals on the town houses. Were going for the mid to high 3's now going for 139 to 149. Have impact glass all around so definitely would be perfrect for a summer place. Close to the beach as well. When I looked there I spoke to an couple from Canada who had it for a seasonal house and they loved it there.

We were looking Boca Raton, West Palm, Daytona....just looking for a good safe place to spend some time when the weather gets frosty up here in Mass.
Not looking for a palace, just some cheap property $20,000-$40,000
Think it's possible without being taken for a "ride"??

It's possible, but it would be like a needle in a haystack... I would strongly suggest contacting a KNOWLEDGEABLE realtor who will know which areas are safe. Most of the units in that price range are the 55+ communities. Others may not be in good areas.

Don't give up though, you may have better luck in places like the treasure coast, just north of palm beach county. (Port St. Lucie, Jensen Beach, Stuart, Hobe Sound, etc.)

yeah, you're absolutely right TriMT7. Barry J, if you would like to look what you need, it is better if you ask an experienced realtor.

and if you have already found for that place you want, don't forget to tell it here so we can also give our comments and insights.

Best wishes..
