Learning English in Jupiter (Palm Beach: neighborhood, high school, university)

Hi all,

We are a young couple that have just arrived in Jupiter. We are from Spain and we don't know much English, specially my husband, and we are looking for some place where we can be teached.

Does anybody know where in Jupiter we can learn English as a second language??

Ainhoa, I do not know the resources in Jupiter.

But where I live, the local middle and high school, the community colleges, and the university (FAU) all have night classes for non-English speakers.

I looked up ESL in Jupiter on Google and saw a lot of for-profit language schools. They are expensive. See if you can find what you need for a more moderate cost in a night program at one of the publically funded schools in your area.

El Sol | Jupiter's Neighborhood Resource Center is in Jupiter. I believe the classes are free

Palm Beach county has the ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) programs for learning English. They have one at Jupiter High. There are 40 locations in Palm Beach County. Not sure if all have the ESOL program. In Juputer, it is four nights a week Mon - Thurs. 7-9. There are 7 levels. One level for each term. There are three terms per year. You will need to take a test which consist of reading and listening. They will place you based on test results. Cost is per term and is $30 for Florida residence (which you have to provide proof) for $120 for non-Florida residence.

Class make up is primarily Spanish but there are also Italian speakers, Russian, other languages. It's a great program and a great deal cost wise.
