Moving to SE FL next spring

I'm concerned with being priced out of Fort Lauderdale and suburbs in Broward (my 1st choice) and also Delrey Beach and West Palm Beach Downtown areas, my 2nd choice. I could not afford Boca Raton or even downtown WPB

I'm looking for Urban Lifestyle as possible. High walk score boulevards, main streets for shopping and access to mass transportation, as limited as can be

Any current up and coming neighborhoods anyone can recommend that I should consider even if not as nice as the ones listed above?

I hear Lake Worth real estate is very competitive, and so is Pompano Beach

I appreciate the feedback

Alfredo

What is your housing budget? That would help a lot.

Up to $1,800.00 rent as much as possible for a 1Bd Apartment preferably, to fit 2 adults plus small dog
I will buy in a year or two approx.

Century Village Deerfield but I don't know if they let you have dogs. MarbleCake on here lives there and she loves it.

I would check out these options:

https://www.apartments.com/bayridge-...le-fl/ge9lf2z/
https://www.apartments.com/middle-ri...le-fl/r84bt60/
https://www.apartments.com/set-point...le-fl/w2s6gyh/
https://www.apartments.com/ocean-hou...ch-fl/gbnc1gy/
https://www.apartments.com/rue-granv...ch-fl/pe9nvcr/

The last two are in Dade County in/around North Miami Beach just south of Broward County in fairly safe/desirable areas that are actually pretty walkable too.

Anything close to resembling urban living(high rises, public transit, walkability etc) in SE Florida will be east of I-95 with very little exceptions and $1,800/month these days won't give you access to it.

With that said, all of the major downtowns of Miami/Ft.Lauderdale/WPB will basically be out. There are generally "deals" in downtown Lake Worth...check that out.

There's no easy answer to this question. West Palm Beach is very much in demand. A lot of people want a city with things to do, thats near a beach and in driving distance of Miami.

You either need to pay a lot in rent, or pay less but live in a rougher neighborhood to save money.
