I am interested in hearing from other buyers of condos in the Promenade Condos, now that we are getting closer to settling on our units. I am also interesting in learning if the redevelopment of downtown Boynton Beach is continuing and what progress is being done, other than the Marina renovation. Thank you and I look forward to my future neighbors

I left Boynton Beach in 2005 when it started getting unsafe ! It sure isn't the Boynton of 10-12 years ago !!!! Have you read the Palm Beach Post lately ?? Gangs have moved in !! From what I have seen in the online rentals sites - the Marina is having a hard time renting. Too bad, Boynton was such a great town years ago.

This is true, Boynton has changed. I live at woolbright and the intracoastal and while my apartment is beautiful, they are renting to anyone and the cops are always here. Gangs and drugs are all around. I'm moving to Tuscany on the Intracoastal - it's really close by - just south on Federal Hwy but it's a safer community and there isn't a lot of riff-raff in there. The problem with any development in east Boynton is it's surrounded by these unsafe "cracktown" areas. I love living east because I love the water but actually west Boynton is much more safe - west of Jog actually.

The other condo projects planned in the immediate area (500 Ocean and Coastline Commons) are either postponed or canceled. There is also a proposed project in the adjacent Heart of Boynton area that will mostly cater to lower income residents. I would not expect any type of Delray like revival anytime soon. Don't know how much you are holding on your contract but I think the resale value of these units are well below contract value.

I was living in Boynton when the developers came in. 10% down on a $200,000. unit and when it is built -- sell for $500,000. Well, guess what ? It didn't happen, don't look for good news anytime too soon. I have a friend in Naples bought a condo, new development, "get in on the ground floor"
she paid $185,000. just sold it for $79,000. And was happy to do it, because the place turned into a dump because the left over condos that never sold were sold real cheap and guess who started buying them ??? !!! Its like a bad dream who never wake up from !!

Boynton is ok but I would stay away from anything east of I-95. I also don't make going to the mall a habit which is where the kids that cause problems seem to go. Just as in any other city, pay attention to your surroundings, watch who is around you and use common sense. I have lived in some really small town's also from MI and crime can happen anywhere.

Has anyone made an attempt to get back their deposit at The Promenade?

Can you elaborate on this comment:

What exact area are you talking about and what is the proposed name of this 'project'?
My husband is a police officer for BB and has never mentioned this to me.

Don't let these posters scare you. Every town in America has bad pockets and good pockets. Not just ole Boynton beach.

And you could travel up, down and around the whole state of Florida's most-eastern neighborhoods (toward the beach) and they will ALL have bad pockets.

That's just the way it is.

Good luck in your move!!

Looks like the project was recently canceled. It was to be located along MLK. The "Heart of Boynton" area stretches from Boynton Beach Blvd north to the C-18 Canal, east of 95 and west of Federal:
