Sounds like your dh could look in to landscape/irrigation, use his plumbing, sprinkler skills. Sprinkler systems for lawns are big in florida. Even with the bad economy the lawns still need water !!

My wife is Peruvian , we have lived in NJ for 10 years , we built a home close to Arequipa and i really enjoy going to Lima 2-3 times a year , its a hassle and too long leaving from JFK or Newark , I lived in Florida back in the late 80s and loved it , I use to rent a room at the Carlye before it was fashionable , later I moved to Ft lauderale , the only thing that worries me are the schools , we have a 5 year old son , how much is a condo or townhome about 1500 sq in Boca ?

Our friends rent a nice, newer home (2300 sft) in West Boca...most are around 2000/month for that size (in good neighborhood). The public schools in Boca are some of the best....and the area is beautiful. Good luck.

LI isnt the only town in the USA.....NJ taxes are also the highest in the Nation...LI and NJ are very comparable in this department...I do however see that Florida Property taxes are high too, depending on where u live...we are spoiled here with our LOW taxes...going from 11,000 in taxes to 2190 a year here, well no comparision..and we have excellent schools....

Just a comment regarding high taxes. LI isn't a town by the way. I'm also aware of the geography of the USA, thank you.
