Default best town from Miami to Jupiter for a single 39 year old?

This would be winters/spring only. I'm out of the party hard stage, but I'd like a place with some character, good vibe, not super suburban-ish. I currently live in San Diego. My summers and falls would be spent somewhere else. I have an Internet related job so commuting is not an issue. I am a straight male by the way.

I would also like to hear thoughts on Sarasota for those that have lived in the SE Coast of FL and Sarasota. Thanks.

I vote Delray Beach. What a great town.

I would have to say Delray first, Palm Beach Gardens second, downtown West Palm third. Guess it depends on how much you desire a walkable urban environment...

Thank you. I do like the walkable downtown, is that West Palm?

How would you compare/contrast Delray Beach/West Palm/Palm Gardens to Sarasota?

Walkable DT would be West Palm but Palm Beach Gardens has a nice new downtown now which has stores and restaurants/lounges/bars

In the case of Delray vs Sarasota, Delray has a much younger vibe. Sarasota, while very nice, feels decidedly geriatric to me (and this coming from a 53 yo).

North Miami Beach. It's close enough to South Beach where there actually is culture and some kind of vibe going on... but also away from it so you not totally immersed in it. Also rent is cheaper in NMB. MY BFF lives in North Miami and loves it. She's a single girl in her early 30's living it up so I think that would be the best recommendation.

I might even recommend Delray Beach, but it's definitely more sleepy than Miami.. and I don't think it's very cultural. However they do have cute little outdoor cafes and the beach is nice. They do have a nightlife scene here but I haven't experienced it, so I can't say. I usually go down to Miami if I want to go out...
