Love-Florida frm Hawaii-Tamarac?
Anybody know about Tamarac?
Cold up here in the panhandle! Was in Hawaii 17 years. Can you recommend anyplace (Vero Beach to Coral Gables) where rent is ok and fairly safe? Pensacola is a little rough, so can handle. Thanks, DR

I live in Tamarac and have been here for a few years. Its basically like any other town in the Ft. Lauderdale area...there are ALOT of elderly but recently there have been new families moving into the area. Some new construction and two new schools are helping.... no complaints. There is a city pool and community center and gym that is pretty cheap if your a resident of Tamarac.

thanks for the Tamarac information, any racquet ball around?
The demographics don't seem tooo? old? Does this seem about right?
In the city the population was spread out with 13.4% under the age of 18, 5.3% from 18 to 24, 23.5% from 25 to 44, 20.1% from 45 to 64, and 37.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 53 years. For every 100 females there were 80.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 77.3 males

well I put to you this way we have one of the biggest retirement communities. Plus Tamarac is a little older then Coral Springs and Sunrise ( the cities around it) so it still has residents from when it first started being built up. Many of the communities were 55+ but I think alot of them have changed since then. Like I said though the past couple of years it has been getting younger. I don't know about racquet ball I am sure its around here though. Tamarac is a good location not far from Ft. Lauderdale but quiet.

Pompano is nice east of the Intracoastal. Lots of great condo rental deals. For the best swimming, avoid the inlet area. is nice to be warm and right at the beach. people talk it down, but it is actually pretty nice.
i've never been to Hawaii, seems like it would be hard to go from there to Pensacola. There's an apartment at teh Silver Thatch on Craig's list with tennis/raquettball a 2/2 with hurrican windows, on craig's list for 1200 a month. tha't a great deal. i was tryign to get in there for 1700 a month a couple of eyars ago!
