"Bill Haney's ecological documentary The Last Mountain traces the horrific ecological fallout from the practice of mountain-top removal that has been employed throughout West Virginia. The filmmakers show how local communities, with the help of such national figures in ecology as Robert F. Kennedy Jr., stand up to industries that are making decisions harmful to their lives."
Looking at the schedule, let's just say that it's not likely to play at anybody's neighborhood multiplex. I think Cody's closest choices are LA or Austin, maybe Denver.
I might as well head to LA when it showcases... I've got a lot of traveling to do on this side of the country...hahaha
Buttercup - I love it actually. It's hard being so far away from my family and friends but I do love it here. So warm, and generally everyone is really nice and helpful. The drive out was rather boring going through Ohio, Indiana, Illinois... Missouri was nice though... then Oklahoma was boring again... Texas was neat, except around Amarillo... ( Dusty and cows everywhere) and New Mexico and Arizona were of course beautiful.
Sorry for the hijack but as soon as I saw his name the rest went blank.
I was surprised to find many environmentalists oppose wind power. Recently in NC wind turbines were banned from the ridge tops. Here in Greenbrier Co Beech Ridge was in court for years. Many of those opposing were/are heavily involved in other enviro causes. I don't think it takes away from RFK's opposition to MTR. The article you cite makes it sound like, Not In My Backyard, but the actual story seems a bit more complicated than that.
