Is Carvana looking to build new facility in Berkeley County?
Not that I’ve heard. I do know an unnamed company is going to build a massive facility off of Route 11 and Mid Atlantic Parkway north of Martinsburg. It’s supposed to total over 200,000 square feet and include car maintenance stations. Maybe this will be it? It would make sense.
I had seen the Carvana name come up in the Journal deed transfers but hadn't heard anything about them coming to the area and was curious. A facility with car maintenance stations would make sense for sure, thanks.

You are right. Carvana recently purchased land in the Opequon District (Rt11, near Mid Atlantic Parkway) for a Warehouse titled "Project Nova".
This looks to be a facility where Carvana stores and preps vehicles for sale on Carvana.com. They'll inspect, repair, and photograph and eventually ship the vehicles out.
This will mean more jobs for the area. I just hope this project is planned in a responsible fashion: Entrance visibility, turning lanes and SWM. The land where Carvana bought, the Mid Atlantic Parkway/Rt11 area and Berkeley Station Road area are all prone to flooding. A well planned SWM system may help to resolve some of the flooding issues. A poor SWM area, especially with 80 acres of asphalt runoff, could be a disaster for the surrounding area. Lets hope they get it right.
That really looks to be quite a facility and a nice opportunity for more (and different) jobs coming to the community and you are right it will need be done in a responsible fashion with issues already in that area with flooding. I'm curious on the timing of it coming?
In addition to Carvana; Berkeley gets another plant with jobs
Commercial Metals Company is building a micro mill in Berkeley County, with the capacity to produce 500,000 tons of straight-length rebar and a premium spooled rebar.
The state-of-the-art steel production micro mill is expected to open in late 2025. The company anticipates employing about 230 workers.
Wow, had no idea they were on such shaky ground - better to find out now than later I guess.
