I think I'm not the only one here that agrees that we need to move past what we've been talking about since 2009!!! I think it could get real unhealthy if we don't stop, me included in this!
I make a promice to respect everyone's opinion aslong as they do the same for me. We are all in this together!
Just trying to think of a new topic, how does famous people from WV sound? Maybe your favorite native that has done something good for the state, or that has made a good life for themselves.
My person is Jerry West. He was dirt poor, played great basketball, and is now the NBA logo and wealthy guy who still does alot for the state!
I read Jerry's book West by West, great read I would recommend it. Randy Moss may not be as respected as Jerry but he is still a great athlete and has donated a lot to Charleston charities and such. Chuck Yeagar, Pearl Buck, Berta from two and half men lol, way more but can't think of them off the top of my head.
I'm a big fan of Chris Sarandon. He was born and raised in Beckley, playing in a band and performing some plays over at Grandview. He also went to WVU majoring in speech. He is Susan Sarandon's ex, played the title character my favorite adaptation of "Cyrano de Bergerac" I have seen, was Prince Humperdinck in "The Princess Bride," and was the voice of Jack Skellington in Tim Burton's "A Nightmare Before Christmas."
Honorable mention: I have to go with the hometown guy - Paul Dooley, actor from Parkersburg. You can imdb him, but my favorite line of his comes from the movie "Hairspray," where he plays the station sponsor: "I want that chubby communist girl off my show!"
From 'Grandpa Jones of 'Hee Haw' fame who called Fairmont his home to Brad Paisley of the northern panhandle...Loretta Linn, Roy Clark, Jimmy Dickens, John Sandor.
Another I'd like to mention would be Booker T. Washington. He wasn't born in what is now known as WV, but lived in Madlen for a while and obviously has contributed a lot towards America and African American history.
Robert C. Byrd, Lawrence Shaffer, Bob Browning, Henry Henson,
