I see your point, but a twin turbo charged, AWD Taurus would be a lot of fun to drive.
I like the Mustang but I wouldn't buy one until they do away with the live rear axle and go to the 4 wheel independent suspension, which I believe they are doing for either the 2014 or 2015 model.
