I firmly believe the reason our elected officials voted down this bill is because either they or someone close to them is guilty of these actions. Why else would they not want to stop fraud against the State? This is just another reason why we need to clean house come election time.
Seemed to be several groups of people against this, it definitely sounds suspect. I quite don't understand why the WV Chamber of Commerce would be against this. Only thing I can think of is it relating to our somewhat state reputation of frivoulous lawsuits, medical malpractice, etc.
Sounds to me like it didn't go far enough. It's not just corporations defrauding the government. Many times it's the government.
