I've been trying to tell people all of this for years people are so clueless, they still don't get it. The thing is though it's really impossible for us to pay for all of our social services without raising taxes. When tax cuts are given it's viewed as basically screwing over poor people or old people.
The U.S. is almost going to have to come up with some sort of European style VAT tax to pay for everything.
Look up what the Paradise Papers are the U.K. publication called The Guardian did a whole special report on it over a period of months.
Sad we can pay for 5-6 wars but we can't afford to help people here.
stability in the world isn't cheap and it would cost us way more in other ways to do nothing. getting rid of corruption in medicare and medicaid would save billions every year. getting lobbyist and special interest group out of Washington and our representatives pockets fixes many issues. term limits fix many others. big government costs way to much and I was hoping with tax reform a overhaul of the IRS would take place.

IRS isn't the problem, unless you're cheating on your taxes. It's the solution to getting corporations and the rich to pay the amounts they owe. It takes manpower to enforce the tax laws. Of course, the current Congress prefers to starve the IRS and thereby protect their wealthy cheating donors.

You are correct the call out the billions figure but you are wrong in the idea that the IRS is being "starved". It's simply cheaper for someone like Buffett to pay lawyers than to pay his taxes.

Nothing stopping the state from raising taxes to take care of its OWN people. "Helping people" is not the responsibility of the Federal government.
