Charleston Gazette-Mail | Pulitzer Prize-winning West Virginia news | WV road projects to roll out in waves, officials say

Wonder what projects will be at the top of the list? Finishing Corridor H perhaps?

I can almost guarantee none of Morgantown's Swiss cheese roads will be on the list, or in the initial wave.

Hopefully the I-64 expansion between Nitro and the Rt. 35 connector in Putnam County is high on the list. The number of horrible accidents and resulting traffic congestion issues has gotten worse over the past 3 or 4 years.

Along with finishing Corridor H.

Agree on both accounts.

Also would like to see the Jefferson Road project high on the to do list. That would further enhance the attractiveness of Southridge to potential businesses, alleviate the current problems associated with Jefferson Road and its dysfunctional intersection, and would allow access to land on the back side of the Tech park for development. If you've driven on Jefferson Rd., you'd know how much of a mad house the place is at peak traffic hours.

I agree. Also the widening on I-81 in the EP is needed.

Is the list of proposed road projects available online? I did a Google search but couldn't find it.

Here's my map of the projects proposed to be financed by the road bond. These don't include the initial paving of the secondary roads and small bridges that the State will start with soon.

elewis7, thanks for the link.

I had also forgot to mention the US 52 improvements in Wayne County. That upgrade will hopefully help the Prichard Intermodal facility grow.

Hopefully I-79 expanded to three lanes each direction through Morgantown gets added to the list in the near future (why Fairmont is 6 lanes and Morgantown is not boggles my mind).
