The following thread contains a poll about a possible new(ish) name for a region around Pittsburgh, centered in Western Pennsylvania but potentially including nearby parts of New York, Ohio, Maryland, and West Virginia as well. If you are interested in this project, please check out the poll and feel free to vote and/or comment:

It's something to talk about, I guess...

Upper Ohio Valley has always seemed the most descriptive to me, Stiller Country is probably the most accurate.

Or we could evoke memories of both vampires and the mentally disturbed, and call it the Trans-Allegheny Region.

If we could convert Pitt into a satelite campus of WVU, this idea might work...but how would we put our legislature in the unemployment line, they have never worked...

would be forced to go on the same dole that they have provided for our people since 1930.

The possibilities do look promising... symbiotic justice.. and the geographic center would be near Mobley...could be the new capitol...

It's all becoming clear now...

There's a committee trying to get I-68 extended to the Ohio River. While this would be extremely convenient for me when I go back for Homecomings, I wasn't really sure this should be a high priority.

But now I get it! The I-68 extension is intended to connect Mobley with I-79, anticipating the influx of government workers to the new capitol.

You Jest...but look at the map...it's in the County Commission Office in Mtown..Don't know where the route will shake out as the politico's are keeping that mum as they buy up the land...but it will connect at New Martinsville with Ohio's new 4 lane...Rt # 2..
I-68 is to be re-named an extension of I-270 and will be an extension of that highway to DC..security route to get the masses into the interior if a mishap happens in DC. Has priority under Home Land Security and will be built no matter who is Pres.

A practice drill of this mass exodus by public entities was done in the spring.

All I came up with is, let's name it " Greater Elmhurst, Pennsyltucky" but then refuse to call it that.

Put it on the ballot...I'll vote for Pennsyltucky..always liked that word...Mobley, then would really fit as the new capitol...I expect the 'burgers would want to have Pittsburgh as the capitol...and WVU as a community college...'Wez would be onda 'sauth side!!!

What a way to get 'Home Rule into Wv...We could leave MoJo in Charleston...this is getting better...
