You are a sheeple - how dare you speak out !!!!!!!

At Jay's health care/insurance forum in Chas yesterday - he was surrounded by like-minded people and supporters. Entry to the main area was by invitation only (btw, AARP was one of the organizers of this event) - they did allow some non-invited to join the additional supporters in the overflow area.

However, there was no opportunity for direct questioning or follow-up of a question. Also, they took pictures and video of the crowd (I know, it was just for the scrapbook). The event was tightly controlled with no opportunity for "adverse" exchange or challenge.

Made me wonder - if these politician's are always surrounded by "yes" men, fans, and supporters, perhaps they are soooo far removed from the average citizen that they really do believe it is just a small group of discontents who are outraged and concerned over govt actions.

What I don't understand:
Millions of people vote for the next American Idol, what food the Have-Nots will get on Big Brother, who will win So You Think You Can Dance, etc........
so, why can we not have a system where we can tell our Fed reps how we want them to vote on an issue?

It wouldn't be their "official" vote, but then they could see how we really feel. One call per phone, or computer, or soc sec number or something!

Don't even do it for all issues, but do it for the Health Care, Cap & Trade, and other vital issues sure to ensue.

What's with Rocky's office staff?

They will be in the un-employment line after the next election and they know it.

No much on the otherside of the job market that would give a smile to any political office hack.

I'm hoping to buy one of those white mini-vans from surplus when they close the doors.

Rocky and Byrd both came out in support of BHO after the primary was won by Clinton. This topic is just like that one; they do as they please and still get re-elected. At least Byrd gets us enough pork to make him worthwhile. Rocky authored the telephone tax (oops, I mean fee) and divides that back out to schools and libraries for internet services. I just cannot support John D. Rockefeller to represent WV in anything.

True. If an explanation was ever needed why people are cynical regarding the impotence of their vote, you need look no further than the last election. Some Democrat delegates were pledging their vote (or support) to that occupant of the White House even before the primary.

I feel for the Democrats who voted for McCain in the general election in protest; must've felt like they were swallowing cod liver oil. And it's little consolation, but McCain was not the preference of Republicans in WV either.

West Virginia has a winner take all with regards to the electoral college, and the electoral votes went to McCain. Point being, even though the delegates betrayed the Democrat voters here, the candidate these delegates supported still lost in West Virginia.

These creeps keep saying "we won", in essence, "get over it". Well, they didn't win here.
