It wouldn't surprise me one bit.

But MAN was that store a Godsend when I lived down the road off Leetown Rd. Back then there was NOTHING around but that place.

The rumor is true. It will be at the corner of Rt.9 and Short Road.

Here is the information with the County:

Are they going to abandon the old one? That corner is quite a hot-spot.

Cool! Sheetz is awsome.

They're going to open one in Hurricane on Sept 30.

maybe i missed something, but the link indicates that a new Sheetz will be built at Rt 9/Short Rd. It doesn't say that the existing Sheetz in Kearneysville will close, does it? That seems to be a hot spot to have a Sheetz. Perhaps they think that business will die down after the four lane is completed?

Oooh.. forgot about the Rt. 9 impact. Yeah well if Sheetz follows their standard build policy- a store's location is determined by traffic counts. That corner may not be as much a hot spot as it once was.

The new sheetz (Old Rt.9 and Short Rd) will be right off an exit ramp for the new road. New Rt.9 will go behind the IRS, Coast Guard, and Comfort Suites and have an exit ramp for Short Road. So the new Sheetz location will be prime. It's hard to say if they will keep the old location, it wouldn't make sense to have another Sheetz a minute away from another one. Well I take that back there's one on every exit ramp in Martinsburg hahah.

Yay! I've always thought that that Sheetz was too busy for the size of the building it was in. It is always crowded and difficult to get in, out and around the parking lot.
