Would appreciate any advice. We are a young family moving from NYC and have looked at all 3 areas. In Valhalla we especially like the Mayfair Acres area.
We would like to know if anyone can recommend the quality of the school system in each area and the population of Jewish kids in the schools. We don't need a Scarsdale-type atmosphere but we wouldn't like our child to be the only Jewish kids in his class - or one of a very few.
I'd Irvington's your easy answer: nice community, excellent schools and as if not more Jewish than Ardsley. Recently voted number one most desirable place to live in the area...
Don't know much about Valhalla but I's second Irvington. We lived in Dobbs Ferry for a year but went to Ardsley schools. They are great and there is a fairly large Jewish population but Ardsley doesn't really have a good sense of community or town center. Irvington definitely seems like a better place to live. Bigger town center, more town community etc.
