After taking into account a number of factors (Schools, access to Metro, ability to walk to downtown, commute and overall feel) my husband and I are seriously considering moving to Pleasantville vs other towns in Westchester (we have a 9 month old). From our many visits, people seem quite lovely and friendly. However, we do have some concerns regarding it's diversity or lack thereof.
To give you a bit of background, both my husband and I grew up in Queens NY. I'm of hispanic descent, he's Greek and Russian/German. Between both of our families, we have Roman Catholic, Greek Orthodox and Jewish folks. Needless to say, we are diversity!
I've found some of the discussions in this forum to be quite informative and I'm hoping to get some first hand insight from those of you that live or have family/friends that live in Pleasantville. I'd like my children to grow up in a community that embraces or at least accepts diversity. As a community, would Pleasantville welcome a family like mine?
