I am using someone, however, I am not sure if I am a big fan. The person has an attitude problem, however, if he gets me my tax relief that is all that matters.

I found a person by the company name O'connell but he can not give me any proof of what he has done for people so far so I don't want to use him. Do you recommend the person you used and was he able to get it down?
We bought our house in May, 2010, and the paperwork to file for grievance had to be submitted before June 1. Normally we would have done this ourselves, but with the short amount of time that we had, and the fact that a lawyer can fight city hall if they don't give an adequate grievance, we opted to hire an attorney. We used Wolper Law Firm, PLLC, in Hawthorne, NY.
I had no interaction with him after I hired him, but he did successfully grieve our taxes, which are now valued at the purchase price, as opposed to 30% more than the house was valued at! I eventually got a bill in December that had the info. Their fee is 50% of the first year's savings. So if they knock down your tax bill from $10,000 to $5,000, you owe them $2,500.
I am in property management and most of our properties use Bobbie Ann Flower-Cox in Bronxville. She is good with tax cert and has gotten many of our buildings a good chunk of change back.
This is your man. Rich is the former assessor of Eastchester. And unlike most of the other jokers in the business, he gets an appraisal, which makes your grievance more credible.
I've had good success with a hawthorne based company AAA Property Tax Appeal its run by an attorney named for Aaron Cohen
They pay for the appraisal and the filing fees so there was no risk or out of pocket costs , which was the problem with a lot of the other guys - one company wanted $400 just for the appraisal .....AAA actually covers all of the expenses their site is www.aaapropertytaxappeal.com
Does this company actually get an appraisal? Did you get a copy of it?
