Best suburb for owner-occupied income property - Duplex, etc.
Really like these boards... it's an amazing amount of good info... and people seem to know what they're talking about... So here's our goal...
We're married, jewish, have a 2yo daughter and an energetic dog.
We value having trees, quiet, and a good amount of living space indoors and out. (2000'+ home 6000-10,000' lot would be nice)
We've spent more than 5 years in each; St. Paul, New York, Denver, and currently Los Angeles.
We are interested in a suburb environment with a mix of single family, duplex, and maybe fourplex properties.
We're looking for an area that is good for a family, still has restaurants and some nightlife, offers easy commuting (1 hour or less) to SoHo and most importantly, has a good rental market.
Our budget is around 400 - 600k. (Depending on what would need to be done to the property.) Would love to find a major fixer in a great town!
Anyone have some suggestions?
