Happy to help. If that is the case, IMO Rye Neck and Harrison are your best bets. Both have express trains (more at Mamaroneck) and ample parking to village residents if you aren't within walking distance of the train, and excellent schools. Rye Neck has better schools overall, and a much smaller system than Harrison. In fact, their HS and MS are on one campus.
I don't believe that Port Chester has express trains, and traffic and parking downtown is a much bigger hassle there. Not as familiar with Hartsdale as it's on the Harlem line and we're only really most familiar with the New Haven one.
We looked in Hartsdale with Ardsley schools. Hartsdale had nice residential areas but some dumpy areas as well. The town area was very congested and had tons in traffic and I was there in the middle of the day during the week. It wasn't very attractive and had a lot of buildings. On the other hand, it was very convenient to Central Ave shopping. They have a really nice pool complex and great recreation. The area we looked in had nice well kept homes and seemed like a good place to live.
We also looked in Harrison. The area near the train was more affordable and the taxes were very low. We were looking at $500,000 homes with $5000 tax bills. The problem is there is not a lot of inventory in that price range. The town area was not very attractive and didn't have much to offer. They have 2 town pools and seemed very family friendly.
