I'm doing an internship this summer at app state and was looking for a place to live this summer. I'm from Michigan and would be new to area and from what I can see it looks like a lot of the summer leases end on Jul 31st. My internship starts on May 21st and ends on August 20th, so I'm looking for a lease that starts in May and ends as close as possible to August 20th, but would be ok with it ending on August 31st.

Can anyone recommend some places I can look/call. I've looked on craigslist housing, but all of the leases on there end on july 31st. Also I don't think living on campus will work either because the fall semester starts on August 21st and the students registered for the fall semester will already be moved in.

If anyone has any suggestions or ideas I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks all.

I lived in Boone during grad school and there are plenty of places available with leases that don't end on July 31st. We have found places on craigslist and also by just driving around and calling property management companies that we have come across (this may not be possible for you since you live in MI).

That being said, if I were you I would post an ad on craigslist seeing if anyone needs a roommate /sub-lease for the summer. During the summer many of the college students leave Boone to travel, work or volunteer somewhere else. Good luck!

By the way, Boone is one of my favorite places in the world (not joking). It's really an amazingly beautiful and unique place. If you like the outdoors, friendly laid back people, good food and good music you will have a blast. Feel free to message me if you need any recommendations on stuff to do and places to visit/eat, etc.
