It woke me up, got me out of bed and sent me to coop down stairs in the mud room...
Have been through many T Storms; I have never seen such frequent lightning flashes/strikes in our decade+ up here on the Mtn.
It was like giant strobe lights going off for an hour.

The torrential rain was welcome, but the storm was remarkable, and scary. Hope everyone is OK...

It really WAS like strobe lights, you're exactly right.

It was hot as hades all day, just about the time I thought I could possibly stand cutting the grass, here came the clouds wind and lightening, and back in I went. Our summers have been absolutely HORRID the last couple of years. Bummer.

The storm woke me up, which is not the easiest thing to do.

We can all blame Mrs. Mule. She was in the DC area visiting her mom when the one ripped through there Friday night and got back last night, about four hours before this one. In fact, when I picked her up at Hooterville International Airport, the sky was putting on a show to the south and west.

The National Weather Service for our area (GSP) has a link dedicated for storm reports last night - numerous reports in the Upstate of SC and western NC of 1 3/4 inch hail!

Not only strobe lights and sound-boom drama, but torrential rains in Black Mountain around 3pm---saw other neighbors on their decks looking at a river of water on the road. We didn't lose any trees or electricity---AVLTimes says 390 people lost electricity in Buncombe Co mostly from trees down.

There's an airport called HOOTERSVILLE?

TheMule: Hooterville Int'l...lmao!
Good airport actually, as 'security theater' is a breeze and lines are short anywhere in the joint.

Actually, the area can thank Charter for me giving it the nickname of Hooterville. When we moved here I felt like I was dealing with Mr. Haney.

Whenever we have any work done around Green Acres, I tell my coworkers (I telecommute to an office in Virginia, but also have coworkers in Spartanburg and San Antonio) that Ep is doing xxxxxxx today.
