Hello everyone,

We will be moving into the Asheville area / Mars Hill / Arden?
Not sure yet.
Looking for acreage - school district is important.
We have 2 small boys.
Can anyone direct me how I can find out what areas to avoid.
Where can I research School grades/ FCAT results / Charter Schools.
I really would appreciate any help.
Florida Mom

There is a website that gives great information about schools in the U.S. It is www.greatschools.net

I live in TX but am wanting to move to NC and even though I don't have children in school, I check it out because I think it gives a good indication pertaining to the area of choice as well.

Not only that but if I move before I retire, I want to work for a school district.

Good luck!

you can also go to the official web site: www.nc.gov (I think)
and click on schools. Asheville schools are pretty good and there
are several private schools, and a major university and community college
and several other colleges within a short commute. I absolutely love Asheville,
but you do need to have something lined up as far as employment and housing
can be interesting to find. My daughter is a UNC-Asheville grad and
has lived there almost 10 years. She loves it! Good luck!
