OP, I'd suggest checking out mast general store for clothing. They have really good sales and nicer stuff that will last a while. Oh and also kohls. They have a great selection of nicer winter jackets for decent prices (columbia stuff for at least half off).
I agree with your recommendation for outerwear. Depending on how much winter wear the OP & her husband will need I still think that Hamricks is a darned good idea. As I previously said, I got 9 sweaters for under $100 last year. I didn't mention that they were Carolyn Taylor (Kohls) & Lands End.

I like Kohls, but promoting them & panning Hamricks doesn't make sense to me, when I can buy Kohls overruns cheaply at Hamricks. Maybe you can explain that to me.

Uh, seriously? What is your problem?! Maybe you can explain that to me as I simply gave the OP more options to find winter wear then was listed. Shhesh. And I personally don't think hamricks is all that but was just correcting the location.

You stated that the OP could get nicer stuff where you suggested, which included Kohls. Hamricks has a lot of Kohl's overruns.

I said that she should look near where she will be moving to for the heavier stuff (outerwear) & stated that your suggestions were good for that. You stated that your suggestions would get her nicer stuff. That's well & good, but if two people need an entire winter wardrobe, cheaper options are a good thing.

I don't think that Kohls clothing is nicer in Kohls than in Hamricks.

You clearly are looking for an argument and took what I said out of context. I never said hamrick sucks just because I said "nicer". I simply meant if you were looking for "nicer" aka more expensive brands with good reputations that have a warranty and will last years to check out those places in addition to the hammricks that was already suggested.

I'm not trying to pick a fight, but I think that you are. How many times do I have to tell you that you made good suggestions about outerwear? I recently got 2 LL Bean tops for $5 each. They don't look like I paid $5. Unless I'm mistaken, LL Bean is a better brand, as is Land's End, which I've gotten there.

Hamricks has some great deals but I wouldn't tell anyone to go there for outerwear. They don't have a good enough selection of that.

I just ordered a down=filled coat from LL Bean. I have been ordering from them for over 35 years.

Many of my down-filled coats have been purchased at the Mast Store in Valle Crucis, in case you get here to the mountains, find yourself in the Boone area, and need something warm.

I have a feeling it is going to be a cold winter!
