Does anyone have a recommendation for regional banks that have branches in western NC?

I'm looking at BB&T, PNC, First Citizens and United Community Bank.

First Citizen's online banking is the best one I've found out here so far, if you're using multiple accounts.

I've banked satisfactorily with BB&T for many years - online, checking, savings, mortgage - and have always been pleased. You can't go wrong with First Citizens either.

Bank of America. Plenty of locations, offices and ATM's no matter what state you're in. My 2nd choice would probably be BB&T in the south.

Friends don't let friends bank with monster mega-banks, most especially B of A.

I always recommend a local community bank or credit union.

I wouldn't touch BoA with a ten foot barge pole. Same goes for Wells Fargo or any mega bank, especially if they were involved with throwing homeowners out of their houses for no reason.

Then you must be a huge fan of Barney Frank. Just what we need down here, another "Redneck in Training".

LOL no worries, I failed the redneck training. They didn't like my Dolce and Gabbana capris.

Who's Barney Frank? Any relation to Barney Fife?

We've been happy with TD Bank.

We also have accounts at B of A, but that will probably end in the coming months. I am not a fan of having all our cash at one bank (not like we have tons of it), and B of A is wearing on our nerves. My guess is BB&T will wind up with that business. Customer service at B of A is, well, shall we just describe it as "lacking and with no interest in improvement."

Then again, I think that describes the ability of some people I work with these days!
