We are in southern Upstate South Carolina, and the snow missed us this go round. I wanted to take my kids sledding today - where can we go? When this has happened before, we've gone up to Jackson Park in Hendersonville, and that's fun, but I'd like someplace new. Any suggestions? I don't want to drive all the way up to Beech or anything like that, so something in the Hendersonville/Asheville area.

Today?!?!? Our roads are mostly impassable still. We have over a foot of snow. Stay home, stay safe, and keep our roads clear so plows and emergency crews don't get stuck.

I've already made the decision to push off until tomorrow based on the weather reports.

Even tomorrow, you should check the road conditions up here. Near the Etowah area there is a good 20" on the ground; and a few more inches could arrive tonight. I don't even want to know what the wind chill factor is ! Check with the weather service and/or the local radio stations. e.g. WHKP in Hendersonville.

Reports are that Travelers Rest got a good bit. Here's a hint... Blue ridge way off tigerville rd has a pretty sweet hill. Much closer to home for you.
