He's speaking of Arden to I-26, and then on to 280W. To the corner of 280 and 64 intersection may not be so bad near the shopping center, but then he has to get into Brevard or go somewhere in Pisgah. He's not going to live on the corner of 280 and 64, as far as we know. I've done that route from Pisgah, but into downtown Asheville and reverse, always took well over an hour. 12 years later, the traffic on I-26 is now much worse, with backups, accidents, and weather issues. These days driving from that 280/64 intersection into downtown Brevard there are backups. His best bet is still Hendersonville or at the least, Fletcher. He can easily use 191 from Fletcher to 280.

As they say, YMMV.

it's just 5 more minutes into Brevard. But still, I regularly can make it from my house near Rosman(opposite end of Asheville side of Brevard) in 45 minutes nearly everytime. If you're going under the speed limit, it might take over an hour, but if you do 5ish over, it's not a bad drive. Ive lived here all my life and driven this route for 17 years, so it just seems like a routine drive to me I guess.
