The city we moved from had about 250 in the county jail, and they are chronically 150% of capacity.

The vast majority were there for something related to meth. Making drugs, dealing drugs, thieving to pay for drugs, possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, etc.

Unfortunately, the judges just slap hands, and luckily for the criminals the state prisons are grossly over populated. There's no place to send these creeps.

Those in jail knew everything about every crime in that community. They knew who were dealing the drugs. They knew who were stealing cars and ATV's. There's nothing those in that jail didn't know about local crimes. Inmates are incessant gossips. It's a shame detectives don't use the inmates as a method to lower crime.

We got sick of being stolen from and burglarized. So we moved 65 miles to another community where we aren't known by anyone.

One good thing I saw before moving away from Hendo several years back was a noticeable increase in patrols something that imo was lacking under the former sheriff. While nowhere is safe from criminal activity, I do commend the Hendersonville PD with their efforts at stepping up their presence in the community.

Because you know putting people with mental health problems into jail, ruining their backgrounds, and not giving them the resources to get help is totally the way to go......
