I'm a cook by trade and got a call from Marchand immediately after submitting an on-line application. That's red flag number 1. The have practically no web presence other than a web site that was registered one year ago and a linkdin profile. Red flag number 2. All they told me was that it was a cook/housekeeper job in N.D. I assume it's Williston since they apparently have an office there. They are doing a background check on me and as soon as that goes through they'll have a bus ticket ready. After reading about living conditions in Williston and "housekeeping" jobs... I'll think I'll pass and just keep trying to get back on a merchant vessel.

I tried googling them as well. They obviously are not a big company (or possibly not even legit). They appear to have offices all over the country, but not an official (.com) website. That almost indicates they are a fly by night company that just uses free links to advertise there business. There is probably some sort of "bait and hook" in getting you to hop on a bus to Williston. Maybe some sort of hidden fee that you have to pay them for getting you a job at one of the hotels or man camps that you could probably get using jobservice North Dakota. I would stay away from them if I were you. I could be wrong, but doesn't sound like they are who they may be portraying. they always say, follow your intuitions...if you get a negative vibe about the situation, don't go through with it. You never know who might be waiting for you at the bus stop in Williston. Yikes!!!!

This Gov. site allows you to pull down menu search, lists most companies in N.D. I didn't see Marchand on there at all. https://www.dmr.nd.gov/oilgas/findwellsvw.asp
