I saw this article today in the paper Williston, ND, Walmart sellkng temporary housing cubes
I thought it was quite 'interesting' to say the least. They sound like expensive fish houses!!
Where do they expect people to "place" these shelters? They also do not have bathrooms so that will just cause new problems.
Un-flipping believable. I guess if people could find a land owner willing to let them plop one of those things on their land (out of town) it might work - have to build an outhouse to go with it though.
That is insane. So, now there will be more issues for Williston to deal with. First the RV's all over, now this....the potential is great for some big issues. But, on the flip side, if a farmer wants to make some money, and can put in some sewage lines, or septic systems.....it could happen.

This had me laughing all day yesterday. Don't see too many happening at 25k though. Anybody wanna buy my 5x9 garden shed? I'll throw in a bucket and and an old camp stove for half the money

Careful Cinj, you'll be getting messages to rent that shed.....Someone literally rented a tree house in the backyard of a house in Williston...it is posted on the forum What now....renting out the front seat of your car?
I don't think they are really intended for individuals to purchase. Seems more like the kind of thing a company might buy and throw on the edge of their property as an alternative to campers.
There are people who are actually renting peoples detached garages as well. So nothing surprises me anymore. As far as Wal-Mart and these sleeping pods. I'm almost thinking this is more of a publicity stunt for the manufacturere. Williston Wal-Mart has made national news about the parking lot becoming home to countless working homeless, and then made national news again when everyone was evicted from the Wal-mart parking lot. Now a manufacturere works with Wal-mart in promoting their "sleeping pods"???? This is ALSO making not only local-regional news, but once again national news. What better advertising for this sleepingpod company! If they don't sell any of these pods in Williston, I have a feeling some large urban city may see this story and consider purchasing some for their homeless population. Some urban cities designate area's for homeless camps, and some charitable organizations have even built wood huts and shelters in some of these camps. The next logical step would be for some rich or charitable organization to purchase some of these pods and donate them to the homeless cause. I can see this happening.
They look stackable. I'm envisioning a high rise development with centralized shower/bathroom facilities consisting of retired Hanjin shipping containers.
Boom 'em down to a flatbed trailer and you'd have a mobile apartment complex that could be repositioned when the sewage stench became too much for the inhabitants.
